JB Larkin Sentral Toilet Charge Now RM1, Up From 30 Sen

JB Larkin Sentral Now Charges RM1 for Toilet

Johor Bahru Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal has increased the public toilet charge from 30 sen to RM1 after completing renovations. The toilet price hike which apparently came into effect without any advance announcement has sparked frustration among passengers, with the staff manning the toilet counter bearing the brunt of the frustration as I observed during my visit.

A notice posted in front of the toilet queue near the local stage bus platforms informs passengers that a RM1 toilet usage fee is now implemented.

This increased RM1 toilet charge is frustrating as there are minimal nearby alternatives for a basic human need in a public transport facility. On top of that, the compulsory Larkin Sentral RM2 boarding pass charge and facilities fee, one of the highest in Malaysia, does not include toilet usage. It is not known what the compulsory facilities fee is for if facilities need to be paid for separately.

30 Sen Toilet Still Available Near Marrybrown

If you have time to walk to the other end of the terminal, a 30 Sen toilet is still available near the luggage lockers near Marrybrown. However, if this toilet gets upgraded, it is not known yet if the toilet charge will also increase to RM1 then.
