Dato’ Ahmad Redza Abdullah Appointed as New Chairman of KTMB, Ir Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin Assumes Duties of Group CEO of KTMB

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced the appointment of Dato’ Ahmad Redza Abdullah as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective August 2025. Ir Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin, KTMB’s Chief Technical Officer, has also been appointed to assume the duties of Group CEO to ensure the continuity of operations and consistency in the company’s management strategy.

The appointment has been warmly welcomed by the entire Board of Directors, senior management, and staff of KTMB in view of Dato’ Ahmad Redza’s credibility and exemplary track record in legal and corporate fields. With over three decades of experience handling high-profile litigation cases and providing strategic corporate advice, he is trusted to further strengthen the governance landscape and accelerate KTMB’s corporate transformation towards a more progressive and sustainable future.

Dato’ Ahmad Redza is the co-founder of the renowned law firm Messrs. Shahrizat Rashid & Lee and currently leads REC Legal (Redza Eleena Chong) as Managing Partner. His leadership in the firm, recognised for expertise in commercial and corporate litigation, reflects his ability to bring firmness of principles, transparency, and integrity into KTMB’s administration.

Throughout his career, Dato’ Ahmad Redza has advised and represented local and international companies on critical matters including corporate restructuring, shareholder disputes, as well as litigation in strategic sectors such as construction and banking. His deep understanding of the business ecosystem and regulatory environment makes him a valuable asset in supporting the company’s long-term direction and enhancing stakeholder confidence.

In a related development, following the end of YBhg. Datuk Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin’s tenure as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Ir Ahmad Nizam Mohamed Amin, KTMB’s Chief Technical Officer, has been appointed to assume the duties of Group CEO to ensure the continuity of operations and consistency in the company’s management strategy.

KTMB records its highest appreciation to Datuk Mohd Rani for his dedicated service during his tenure and hopes he will continue to make meaningful contributions to the rail industry at a broader level.
