Sentul Railway Station is a railway station located north of the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. It played an important role as a central workshop and depot ever since the Federated Malay States Railway era, and retained its function even with the start of KTM Komuter services in 1995. While Sentul Works is currently being redeveloped into a co-working space, the adjacent Sentul EMU Depot still functions for Komuter EMUs and occasional stabling of ETS EMUs.
Sentul was the former terminus of the then-1-station branch of the KTM Komuter Sentul – Pelabuhan Klang Line, and was one of the few railway stations to have been left relatively untouched for electrification when the KTM Komuter service commenced aside from installation of catenary wires and raised platforms, until the Sentul – Batu Caves Extension was almost completed.
