Danga City Mall Railway Halt was an attached platform to Danga City Mall, opened a few months after the mall’s official opening date. The halt was used to bring passengers directly from Singapore into the brand new mall by train at a special flat fare of only S$3 per person from Singapore, and only RM3 from Danga City Mall to Singapore.
NOTE: Danga City Mall has closed since 1 July 2018 for renovations till further notice.
With the rushed launch of the service at a then-empty mall, which lost popularity with Singaporeans before most of the tenants moved in, along with the inconvenient train schedule (not dedicated trains) for a weekend run, packed trains with both shuttle and long-haul crowds, and confusion over seating as long-haul passengers would have seat numbers while the shuttle crowd does not, the service fell out of popularity very quickly.
The Danga City Mall Railway Halt was never officially closed, but was slowly abandoned, even with trains stopping but the halt gates locked. Danga City Mall itself has closed since 1 July 2018 for renovations till further notice.
