Jurong Railway Station was a freight railway station located in Jurong, Singapore. It was first opened on 11 November 1965 as part of the new Jurong Line from Bukit Timah to Jurong Industrial Estate.
Contrary to popular belief, Jurong Railway Station was not the terminus of the Jurong Line. Jurong Railway Station operated as a junction station leading to the 3 branch lines around Jurong Industrial Estate, of which 2 leads to the docks (today’s Jurong Port) and 1 to Shipyard Road (today’s Chuan Li Container Pte Ltd and ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd) and National Iron and Steel Mills (today’s NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd) respectively.
With the improvement of the road network leading to Jurong Industrial Estate including the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) and Jalan Buroh, along with the Malaysian Government prioritizing a new railway (Pasir Gudang Line) to Johor Port Pasir Gudang, the Jurong Line including Jurong Railway Station was closed in 1992.
