KTM Train Tickets 2026 Opening Dates
KTM ETS & KTM Intercity train ticket sales for June 2026 are delayed due to an unknown reason. Shuttle Tebrau train ticket sales are unaffected.
KTM ETS & KTM Intercity train ticket sales for 2026 were delayed due to a timetable revision with the completion of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP). ETS trains are expected to be extended down south to JB Sentral. KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets are unaffected by this delay in opening. KTM ETS & KTM Intercity train ticket sales for 1 January to 30 April 2026 were opened on 17 November 2025.
KTM train tickets has opened in 1-month blocks of 6 months ahead from 30 July 2023. This includes ETS trains, KTM Intercity trains, and Shuttle Tebrau trains. This provides a much more frequent booking period as compared to the current 6-month block of 6-months ahead, resulting in passengers needing to rush to buy tickets up to around 8 months in advance. This change will allow passengers to buy tickets in a moving block of 1 month for tickets up to around 6 months in advance. This move will also potentially increase chances of securing tickets on popular days, as peak days will open 1 month at each time, instead of the current half-a-year.

The railway between JB Sentral and Woodlands CIQ is expected to terminate 6 months after the RTS Link opening. The Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) is currently expected to open in December 2026.
