Changi Airport & Jewel Closure During Terminals 1 & 3 Closure

Changi Airport and Jewel is closed to members of the public from 13 May 2021 till 13 June 2021, the end of the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) period, while Covid-19 tests of workers are ongoing at the airport due to the Changi Airport cluster.

In addition to being a global air hub, Changi Airport is also a local bus and train hub, serving as a transfer point for highway buses on the ECP and TPE.

This public transport function has not been disrupted much, with 1 link still available to the general public to transfer between bus and MRT.

Changi Airport MRT Station

Despite the closure of Changi Airport and Jewel to members of the public, the Changi Airport Extension remains fully operational with no disruption to service. There are no “border checks” for passengers heading to Changi Airport.

Terminals 1, 3, and 4 are completely closed to the public. However, Terminal 2, or what’s left of it, remains open to the public functioning as a walkthrough.

Public transport remains operational at full swing, and the Changi Airport Connector remains open to park connector users. Members of the public are allowed to walk through Terminal 2 to access the Changi Airport Connector as per normal, as well as the Changi Airport PTB2 Bus Terminal at the Basement.

Use the normal link at Terminal 2 Basement to walk between Changi Airport MRT Station and Changi Airport PTB2 Bus Terminal.

Lights feel more dimmed as per normal, with offices closed with the current work from home arrangement by default.

Changi Airport PTB2 Bus Terminal

Simply head out to Changi Airport PTB2 Bus Terminal at the end of the walk.

All buses continue to operate from Changi Airport PTB2 Bus Terminal as per normal with normal frequencies.

The reverse route can be used too, when changing from bus to MRT.

If changing between buses, you can use any terminals if you prefer not to walk, or the existing Airport Police Station overhead bridge to transfer at Airport Boulevard with a shorter travel distance.
