MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 2 Exploration from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral by Train

MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 2 Exploration from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral

MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 2 commenced revenue operations on Thursday, 16 March 2023, operating on the full route with the existing MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 1, stretching the MRT Putrajaya Line from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral. On the first day of operations, I took a ride on the full MRT Putrajaya Line from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral.

Free rides are available on the full MRT Putrajaya Line and MRT Putrajaya Line Feeder Buses for the first 2 weeks of operations from 16 to 31 March 2023. Click here for more information.

PY01 Kwasa Damansara MRT Station

PY01 Kwasa Damansara MRT Station is the northern terminus of the MRT Putrajaya Line which was first opened with the MRT Kajang Line. Now, it is an interchange station between the MRT Putrajaya Line and MRT Kajang Line, offering a cross-platform transfer in the same direction of travel, and is also the northern termini of both lines.

To enjoy free rides on the MRT Putrajaya Line, passengers should use the wide gate beside the special lane sign for correct fare deduction (or lack of).

I took the MRT Putrajaya Line train from Kwasa Damansara just after 3pm to let the initial crowd go first.

The train was almost fully seated on departure from Kwasa Damansara.

Conclusion

The MRT Putrajaya Line provides new transit options for residential estates south of KL especially in Seri Kembangan where there has been no direct train service. MRT Putrajaya Line Phase 2 passes through densely populated regions including Jalan Ipoh, Kampung Baru, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuchai Lama, Seri Kembangan, and Cyberjaya, and most importantly passes through the city underground, providing another MRT line through the KL city centre.
