The Rapid Penang Airport Transit (AT) bus service is an express bus route linking the city of Georgetown to Penang International Airport, supplementing the popular Service 401E. The AT bus service also offers a faster journey time as it skips Queensbay Mall.

AT buses depart from Lane 5, similar to routes 401 and 401E.
An added bonus of Lane 5 is that you can wait in the air-conditioned area of KOMTAR.
There is an ICIS display at KOMTAR but this shouldn’t be relied on too much as it stated “4 minutes” for an initial 401E, thereafter “7 minutes” and then changed to “At Jetty”, as if the bus was reversing.
After about half an hour of waiting, the AT pulled into Lane 5 of KOMTAR Bus Terminal.
The fare from Jetty or KOMTAR to the Airport is RM2.70. Prepare exact change for the driver, or if you only have RM1 notes, donate RM0.30 to Rapid Penang.
I was hoping for the newer buses with reclining seats like the ones found on Rapid Penang Intercity services, but oh well.

Hopefully this machine will finally be in use in the near future so I needn’t fumble with change for every bus trip.
The bus stops at the arrivals level by the driveway.
The nearest door from the bus stop would be Door 5 at the arrivals level.
Once inside the terminal building, take the escalator up to the departures level.
From here, it’s a short walk to the check-in counters for my Malindo flight back to Singapore.
