Roma-Viterbo Railway (Urbano) from Montebello to Piazzale Flaminio by Train

Roma-Viterbo Railway from Montebello to Piazzale Flaminio (Urbano)

I had wanted to catch an Extraurbano train back to Piazzale Flaminio, but there was a gap of about 9 hours and 20 minutes without an Extraurbano train to Rome, with Extraurbano train services from Catalano terminating at Montebello. As such, I just got the regular Urbano train back.

*As photography of trains in Rome using a camera are not really welcomed by the operators and staff, picture quality and quantity are degraded in this article.

Roma-Viterbo Railway Alstom Series 300 EMU

There was an Alstom Series 300 EMU for an Extraurbano service to Catalano on the opposite platform, so I headed in to have a look.

Seats are laid out in bays of 4 facing seats.

The route map of the Roma-Viterbo Railway is available on some glass panels. Do note that the Extraurbano service is over-simplified into a single line when up to 2 transfers may be needed if travelling through the whole line. There is no through train service from Piazzale Flaminio to Viterbo.

As the Extraurbano service goes for a longer distance, toilets are available on board the Alstom Series 300 EMU.
