Sabah State Railway (Jabatan Keretapi Negeri Sabah) Resumes Beaufort – Kota Kinabalu Operations From 18 October 2021
The Sabah State Railway (JKNS) has resumed train services between Beaufort and Kota Kinabalu from Monday, 18 October 2021 in line with the resumption of Malaysia interstate travel from Monday, 11 October 2021, although notably the Sabah State Railway (JKNS) does not cross state lines throughout its network.
There will be 2 pairs of train services daily, mainly serving residents outside of Kota Kinabalu to travel into and out of Kota Kinabalu.
90% of the adult population in Malaysia are now fully vaccinated. Malaysia residents who are fully vaccinated are free to move across state lines from Monday, 11 October 2021.
The Sabah State Railway (JKNS) train service between Beaufort and Kota Kinabalu had been suspended since 7 October 2020 during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Sabah.
