KTM Komuter Northern Sector Restarts 6-Car Train Operations From 15 October 2021

The KTM Komuter Northern Sector (Komuter Utara) Butterworth – Padang Besar Line will operate with 6-Car 92 Class EMUs on popular departure timings from 15 October 2021 in line with the resumption of Malaysia interstate travel from Monday, 11 October 2021. There will be 5 pairs of trains operating with 6-Car 92 Class EMUs out of the 8 pairs of trains on the Butterworth – Padang Besar Line.

90% of the adult population in Malaysia are now fully vaccinated. Malaysia residents who are fully vaccinated are free to move across state lines from Monday, 11 October 2021.

Do note that although a new timetable has been published for 15 October 2021, it only reflects the new 6-Car 92 Class EMU operations. No additional train departures are offered.

The KTM Komuter Northern Sector, also known as the Komuter Utara, provides local all-stop train services on the Northern Corridor Economic Region in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak, with trains running on the Butterworth – Padang Besar Line and Bukit Mertajam – Padang Rengas Line.
