The Shuttle Tebrau 81dn is an early afternoon train departing from JB Sentral at 2.00pm, making it not the most popular train out there, and hence it’s easier to get tickets on it. For this trip, I opted to take it just after lunch to get back to Singapore.

As usual, I waited for the queue to clear at the gates before entering it.

Scanning my passport at the passport gate.
Correctly verifying me as usual.
Heading downstairs for Malaysia immigration clearance.
Once that’s done, it’s back to the usual waiting room.
About 5 minutes before departure, the boarding gates opened.
Heading down to the platform.
Quite surprisingly, a newly-painted 26102 Tanjung Bidara leads my Shuttle Tebrau 81dn from JB Sentral to Woodlands CIQ.

Heading back to the coach.
Ah well. Perhaps this is why this coach ended up here since the toilet isn’t used much on this 5-minute ride.
Departing from JB Sentral 1 minute early at 1.59pm.
Heading under Jalan Ibrahim.
Heading onto the Johor–Singapore Causeway.
A clear road on the Johor–Singapore Causeway with the Wuhan coronavirus scare.
Nobody going in to JB on a Saturday.
Crossing the Malaysia-Singapore border.
There is still a bit of backlog for vehicles heading into Singapore, probably with the temperature screening for all.
Heading into Woodlands Train Checkpoint.
The Shuttle Tebrau 81dn arrived at Woodlands Train Checkpoint at 2.04pm – 1 minute early.
Temperature screening is conducted upon entering the immigration hall due to the Wuhan coronavirus. Passengers are funneled into a single file from the platform into the temperature screening lane, before heading for immigration.
Overall, a pleasant ride on the Shuttle Tebrau 81dn to get across the border in a jiffy, but now with the lack of people crossing the border, perhaps it might be cheaper and faster to get to your actual destination by bus, now that there are almost no queues for road checkpoints with the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak.
