Beletime Mall Danga Bay
Beletime Mall Danga Bay is a new shopping mall in Johor Bahru which opened on 13 December 2019, just before COVID-19 struck around the world. This new shopping mall is located just 10 minutes away by bus from JB Sentral which offers easy access from Singapore.
I took S&S International Bus Service 7 from JB Sentral to Beletime Mall Danga Bay which took me just 10 minutes.
Beletime Mall Danga Bay is a marine art themed shopping mall, with balloons adorned at the entrance.
The mall is vast, but most of it only spans a single storey on the ground floor. However, with an anchor tenant of AEON, I thought this would be the most convenient AEON for me to pop by on this JB VTL trip.
I was sorely disappointed when I got to the AEON. It was just the supermarket without the departmental store portion.
Sigh, I should have went to AEON Tebrau City or AEON Bukit Indah instead.
Most of the mall is unfortunately still quite dead with empty or closed shop units.
Some popular and affordable brands like Daiso and MR.DIY are also here, but I don’t know if locals will make a special detour to Beletime Mall Danga Bay just to shop at these outlets when there could be more accessible outlets around Johor Bahru.
The front portion of the future Level 1 is still hoarded up with a lift shaft and escalator leading to nowhere.
With current travel restrictions and a thin crowd from the condominium units around Country Garden Danga Bay, I’m not sure if Beletime Mall Danga Bay will be attractive enough for VTL visitors to visit in the short-term.
From Beletime Mall Danga Bay, I continued my journey by bus back to Tune Hotel Danga Bay Johor Bahru to retire from my long day in JB.
If you are heading back to JB Sentral, cross the road via the overhead bridge south of Beletime Mall Danga Bay to the opposite bus stop.
There is a bus stop serving the shop lots in front of Tune Hotel Danga Bay Johor Bahru along Jalan Bertingkat Skudai.
Tune Hotel Danga Bay Johor Bahru is just 3 minutes away by foot (230 meters) from the bus stop, and easily walkable.
