Roma-Lido Railway from Cristoforo Colombo to Lido Centro by Train

Roma-Lido Railway from Cristoforo Colombo to Lido Centro

After a short visit to the end of the Roma-Lido Railway line at Cristoforo Colombo, I headed back to the station to catch the impending departing train back to Lido Centro. Frequency isn’t great on the Roma-Lido Railway, and it is best to check the next train departure time in advance if possible to plan your journey.

*As photography of trains in Rome using a camera are not really welcomed by the operators and staff, picture quality and quantity are degraded in this article.

The Roma-Lido Railway uses regular Atac Metrebus tickets, so boarding it is exactly like taking the Rome Metro.

This is why I needed to return in time for the next train departure, failing which I would have to wait 33 minutes for the next train.

Along Lido di Ostia, there is also a parallel-ish bus service 062 serving the coastal road.

The timetable of Roma-Lido Railway trains, valid from 9 April to 30 June 2022.

Trains generally only use Track 2 since frequency is low and it has direct access to the station concourse without the need of using the underpass.

Track 2 has platforms on both sides, but doors only open to the main platform.

I’ll be taking the beach sector of the Roma-Lido Railway, indicated by beach symbols, past Castel Fusano and Cristoforo Colombo.

Again, graffiti on the windows make it quite impossible to take photos out of the train.
