Malaysians: How to Register for RM5 KTM Shuttle Tebrau Tickets (Woodlands CIQ→JB Sentral→Woodlands CIQ)
Malaysians will enjoy a new flat fare of RM5 each way on the KTM Shuttle Tebrau cross-border train in both bounds between JB Sentral and Woodlands CIQ from 1 August 2024. However, do note that this discount is not automatically applied, and pre-registration to verify your Malaysian citizenship is required to start getting the new Malaysian RM5 fare. Here is how to register yourself for the Malaysian RM5 KTM Shuttle Tebrau flat fare.
Step 1: Visit the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) website and create a new account
If you haven’t done so already, create your KITS account. You must key in your full name as in passport and passport number accurately especially for the Shuttle Tebrau as your passport is used as your ticket during boarding. Failure to key in your own name or passport number correctly WILL result in denied verification and boarding.
A KITS account is required to link the passenger name record (PNR) with your IC or Passport to program the RM5 fare in. PNRs without Malaysian verification will continue to be charged higher fares, even if the account holder is Malaysian.
Step 2: Verify Malaysian Citizenship using MyKad, MyKid, or Passport physically
Individual MyKad and/or MyKid must be physically registered individually at either the KITS ticket kiosks located in railway stations around KTM Berhad’s network, or the physical ticket counter at JB Sentral only. The verification will be completed immediately.
JB Sentral Ticket Counter

Malaysian verification can be done at the physical ticket counter at JB Sentral. There are currently dedicated counters for Malaysian verification. Malaysians can also purchase tickets at the counter by presenting the original MyKad, MyKid, or Malaysian Passport of the Malaysian passenger, subject to availability.
The verification will be completed immediately.
KITS Ticket Kiosks

Malaysian verification can be done at ANY KITS ticket kiosks with the MyKad slot located in selected railway stations around KTM Berhad’s network throughout Peninsular Malaysia. There are 2 KITS ticket kiosks at JB Sentral.

The interface of the KITS ticket kiosk is simple and easy to use.

Touch on “other services/servis lain” to begin.

There is only 1 function in “other services/servis lain”, which is to “Verify Malaysian”.

Insert your MyKad into the slot, then click “Verify” to very the MyKad.
The verification will be completed immediately.
