KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector New Online Ticket Booking

The ongoing ticketing system works along the KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector has been confirmed to be integrated with the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS). New fare gates are being installed along with additional KITS kiosks at selected stations.

This ticketing upgrade will allow passengers to buy KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector tickets with Visa & Mastercard Credit Cards, Visa & Mastercard Debit Cards, KTM Wallet, Online Banking, Boost e-Wallet, and Touch ‘n Go eWallet under the KITS ecosystem of kiosks, counters, website, and app, on top of the existing Touch ‘n Go and Komuter Link stored value cards.

Cash has no longer been accepted on the KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector since 10 September 2018.

The exact date of launch for the new KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) is not confirmed yet, though it should be when all new fare gates have been installed at all KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector stations.

The KITS system is in place at all stations, including ticket kiosks for the KTM Komuter Northern Sector, and online on the KITS ticket booking website and KTMB Mobile app.

For a normal KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector train user, the KTMB Mobile app will be the most useful for buying tickets online and on the go, without queuing at ticket counters or kiosks, if you do not already have a Touch ‘n Go card.

The KTMB Mobile app is available on App Store and Google Play.

The existing KTM Komuter Northern Sector (Komuter Utara) is already part of the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) ecosystem of kiosks, counters, website, and app.

The new KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) fare gates for KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector trains in front of the old fare gates at Kuala Lumpur Sentral Railway Station (KL Sentral).

The new KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) fare gates for KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector trains is similar to the existing KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) fare gates for all other trains throughout Peninsular Malaysia, excluding JB Sentral Gate A for Shuttle Tebrau.

However, there is an additional angled box behind the QR code scanner to cater for existing Touch ‘n Go and Komuter Link stored value cards.

The usual screen is installed, which is a good upgrade from the current small and brown, opaque screens.

The new contactless reader on the new KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) fare gates for existing Touch ‘n Go and Komuter Link stored value cards. Interestingly, the universal contactless payments logo is used, so I’m not sure if this will be expanded for other contactless payment modes in future.

The QR code reader is present for paper tickets issued from the KITS kiosk and app tickets from the KTMB Mobile app.

KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector ticket machines have also been changed from the old token system, which does not perform much functions any more since cash tokens are not sold to adults, and concession tokens must be purchased from the manned ticket counter only.

If the existing KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) kiosk arrangements are in place, this new KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) kiosk will accept Visa & Mastercard Credit Cards, Visa & Mastercard Debit Cards, Boost e-Wallet, and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

The KTM Komuter Klang Valley Sector KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) website and app will accept Visa & Mastercard Credit Cards, Visa & Mastercard Debit Cards, KTM Wallet, Online Banking, Boost e-Wallet, or Touch ‘n Go eWallet if the existing arrangements are in place
