Sri Maju Express is a long-time player in the Malaysian bus market and has daily services from Singapore to many parts of Malaysia, with KL definitely included. As the fares this time was comparable with other competitors, I opted to try out the 11.30pm overnight service from Golden Mile Complex to Swiss-Garden Hotel Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur.

After flashing my Easybook email confirmation on my phone at the counter to check-in, I was given the actual ticket by the staff.

The Sri Maju bus pick-up point was at a small road between Golden Mile Complex and Destination Singapore Beach Road. Seems like a new bus on this trip, was expecting the usual hi-decker bus.

My spacious single seat for the night.

USB charging ports are available by the side of the seat.

The extremely generous legroom on board Sri Maju.

The equally generous legroom for the pair seats on the other side.

The amount of legroom I have with the leg rest and calf rest in position.

The spacious single seat in fully-reclined mode, great for an overnight journey.

Surprisingly, the bus did not run full despite there being only a single midnight-ish departure to KL and Genting.
Sri Maju Express uses Woodlands Checkpoint to cross into Malaysia.

After clearing immigration at Woodlands, the second driver hands out mineral water to all passengers.

Crossing over the Johor-Singapore Causeway after midnight.
The bus also made a stop at Yong Peng, with the driver announcing the stop over the microphone and switching on all the lights. I ignored that and continued sleeping in the bus.

The Sri Maju bus arrived at Swiss-Garden Hotel Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur at 4.53am, making it a total journey time of 5 hours and 23 minutes. The bus will continue onwards to Genting Highlands First World Hotel.

Swiss-Garden Hotel Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur is near to Hang Tuah LRT and Monorail Station, and along the road towards Pudu Sentral and Masjid Jamek. Taxis are waiting for your business here, but you can easily call a Grab as well to continue on to wherever you need to go in the early morning.
Overall, a reasonably comfortable overnight journey with Sri Maju with the spacious seats and generous recline. I just wish that the driver didn’t have to use the microphone and switch on all the lights at Yong Peng at 2+am in the morning though, interrupting my sleep.

Hi how about doing a review on the Sri Maji Singapore to Hatyai route? 🙂
No thanks, it’s too long for me.
