Rapid KL KL Monorail Line from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku for The Chow Kit Hotel

Rapid KL KL Monorail Line from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku for The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel

Heading to The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel upon arrival at KL Sentral with the KLIA Ekspres Combined Service from klia2, I had the more geographically-direct train option of catching the LRT Kelana Jaya Line and changing at Masjid Jamek for the LRT Ampang Line, or even catching the GoKL Red Line but with the risk of traffic jams. With luggage to boot, I opted for a one-seat train ride with the KL Monorail Line from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku.

With the long wait for the KLIA Ekspres Combined Service at klia2, I settled getting a new Touch ‘n Go card in klia2, since my old card couldn’t function any more as I had not used it for more than 1 year. As such, I could head straight in to the gates.

The ride from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku would last for 8 stations.

Despite having been away from KL for so long, I was surprised to not be surprised that the KL Monorail Line platform screen doors are still not working.

After a few minutes of waiting, a 4-car Scomi SUTRA was arriving.

The off-peak weekend frequency for the KL Monorail is 12 minutes.

This information screen seems new.

Now this is a building that I haven’t seen yet – the upcoming Merdeka 118. Merdeka 118 will be Malaysia’s tallest building and the world’s second-tallest after the Burj Khalifa.

Passing over the LRT Ampang Line and LRT Sri Petaling Line tracks at Hang Tuah.

Crossing the monorail bridge over the Klang River. Which means I need to get ready to disembark.

The KL Monorail ride from KL Sentral to Medan Tuanku took 17 minutes.

There is an elevated walkway between Medan Tuanku Monorail Station and Sultan Ismail LRT Station. This walkway also connects The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel with these 2 stations.

The walk from Medan Tuanku Monorail Station to The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel takes about 5 minutes at my pace with luggage. Do note the stairs leading down to The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel from the elevated walkway.
