KTM Shuttle Tebrau Frequency to be Increased from 31 to 36 Daily Train Trips

KTM Shuttle Tebrau train frequency will be increased from 31 to 36 daily train trips. This comes after the 16th Meeting of the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Ministerial Committee for Iskandar Malaysia held in Singapore on 14 July 2023. The meeting was co-chaired by Singapore’s Minister for National Development Mr. Desmond Lee and Malaysia’s Minister of Economy YB Tuan Mohd Rafizi Ramli.

The Transportation Links Work Group (TLWG) has agreed in principle to increase the frequency of the KTM Shuttle Tebrau from 31 to 36 daily train trips. The new train timetable will commence once agencies on both sides work out further details. Notably, tickets for existing KTM Shuttle Tebrau timings are being sold or have been sold out up till 31 December 2023.

This may now be possible as immigration times in Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) have now been sped up on the Singapore end with the installation of 12 new bi-directional self-clearance immigration kiosks in 2 clusters, as compared with the previously-available 3 kiosks only. This shortens the turnaround time for arriving and departing trains at Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ).

Each self-clearance transaction at the kiosk takes approximately 24 seconds, as compared to 45 seconds at the manual counter. Many nationalities are able to use the self-clearance immigration kiosks such as Singapore residents, long-term pass holders, and short-term visitors who had previously enrolled under the Automated Clearance Initiative (ACI).
