Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 from Pasir Mas to Kota Bharu

Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 is a local bus service plying between Pasir Mas and Kota Bharu via Salor and Pendek. Heading back to Kota Bharu, while not as frequent as Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 29, I opted to take Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 to see how the route, travel time, and fare differs on this local bus route.

Uptown Pasir Mas Bus Stop

Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 originates and terminates at Uptown Pasir Mas Bus Stop. Uptown Pasir Mas Bus Stop is located adjacent to Pasir Mas Taxi Stand and Pasir Mas Railway Station.

This Mutiara Rentas Desa bus featured high-back seats with headrests, which is interesting as this provides more comfort, but yet used on a short bus route.

Pasir Mas Tasek Raja Bus Terminal

And now I know the reason for this detour. Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 serves Pasir Mas Tasek Raja Bus Terminal as well.

A shelter is available away from the main terminal building, which looks like it’s for passing through stage bus services.

Conclusion

It’s great that essential local bus services have been restored by Mutiara Rentas Desa with the demise of SKMK and Cityliner in Kelantan. Demand on my bus was low, but this may be related to my trip being on Hari Raya Aidiladha day itself, when people would be at the mosques and at home. It’s noteworthy that Mutiara Rentas Desa Bus 6 was part of the first tranche of Kelantan local buses to be restarted. Hopefully passenger demand is sufficient so that such essential bus services will remain for the foreseeable future.
