Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway from Chufuku Station to Sanroku Station

Following my afternoon visit to Mount Moiwa Summit Observation Deck, I headed back down at sunset to avoid the tourist crowd coming up to Mount Moiwa for the night view.

There is a shrine outside Chufuku Station (Middle Station).

There is also a walking trail up to Mount Moiwa summit and the Observation Deck.

A quick browse at the souvenir shop in Chufuku Station (Middle Station) before queuing up for the Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway down to Sanroku Station.

If you are a hiker and do not already have tickets, they are available at the vending machine in the queue.

There is a great view down to Sapporo city from the Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway with the long span between the 2 cable car towers.

It’s an almost 45 degree landing into the platform.

Do note that there will be an annual maintenance and inspection of the Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway network throughout Mount Moiwa from 27 March 2023 to 26 April 2023. Do not visit Mount Moiwa during this period as pretty much everything will be closed.

JR Hokkaido Bus 循環円11 (Junkan en 11) serves Sapporo Mount Moiwa Ropeway Sanroku Station to Maruyama-Kōen Subway Station, but does not as frequently as the Sapporo Streetcar.

From here, I walked back down to Sapporo Streetcar Ropeway-Iriguchi Station to head back to the city with the Sapporo Streetcar.
