KTM Shuttle Tebrau Train Restarts On 19 June 2022 • JB Sentral-Woodlands CIQ

KTM Shuttle Tebrau JB-Woodlands Train Resumes Operations On 19 June 2022

The KTM Shuttle Tebrau train will resume services between Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral) and Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) from Sunday, 19 June 2022, restarting cross-border rail connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Star reports a more complete quote from Malaysia Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong on the resumption of KTM Shuttle Tebrau train services.

“Ticket sales will start from 3am on June 13 for train services between June 19 and July 18,” he said after visiting and checking on the progress of the Rapid Transit System Link (RTS Link) at Bukit Chagar here on Saturday (June 11).

New Straits Times previously reported a restart date of 13 June 2022, attributed to Malaysia Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong.

KTM Berhad had previously announced for Shuttle Tebrau passengers to update their passport details on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS). The KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) is the usual ticketing website for KTM ETS, KTM Intercity, and KTM Komuter Northern Sector, and not the previous dedicated KTM Shuttle Tebrau Ticketing System, which seems to be now not accessible.

KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets will open for sale on Monday, 13 June 2022 at 3am, for travel dates between 19 June 2022 and 18 July 2022. KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets will be open for sale 30 days before departure.

Bookings for the KTM Shuttle Tebrau train are to be made on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS).

The KTM JB Sentral-Kempas Baru Sector was slated to be reopened on 1 July 2022 after essential Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track Project (EDTP) works between Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral) and Kempas Baru Railway Station.

As the Shuttle Tebrau is stabled in Kempas Baru Depot, this means that the JB Sentral-Kempas Baru Sector will reopen to facilitate non-revenue Shuttle Tebrau movements before revenue KTM Ekspres Selatan and KTM Ekspres Rakyat Timuran trains on 1 July 2022.
