New KTM ETS Train Timetable from 15 March 2025 (Jadual Baru KTM ETS mulai 15 Mac 2025)
A new KTM ETS timetable will be in place from 15 March 2025 along with the service extension down south to Segamat. The Segamat ETS service will operate as an extension of existing ETS Gold Gemas routes, namely the Butterworth – Segamat and Padang Besar – Segamat sectors. Segamat Railway Station is one of 11 stations in the Gemas – Johor Bahru Electrified Double-Track Project (PLBEGJB), which is expected to be fully completed this year. The ETS service will extend in phases according to the progress of the ongoing project.
Here are the KTM ETS timetables effective 1 August 2024.
KTM ETS stands for Keretapi Tanah Melayu Electric Train Service. It is a prominent railway service in Malaysia, operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) throughout the trunk electrified double-track line throughout Peninsular Malaysia. This service represents a significant component of Malaysia’s rail transportation system, providing higher-speed intercity travel across various regions of the country.
The ETS network spans major cities and regions in Peninsular Malaysia, connecting key urban centers like Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang (Butterworth), and extending to the northern town of Padang Besar near the Thai border. The ETS offers several classes of service, including ETS Express, ETS Platinum, ETS Gold, and ETS Silver, each with varying levels of speed and stations served.
Known for its punctuality and reliability, the ETS significantly reduces travel time compared to conventional rail services, making it a preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers. By utilizing electric trains, the ETS contributes to reducing the carbon footprint compared to traditional diesel-powered trains, aligning with global sustainability goals.
