Toyo Bus 30 from Yonabaru to Makishi Station (Kokusai-dori Shopping Street)

When heading from Yonabaru Railway Museum back to Naha, while the Yonabaru Town Hall bus stop is much closer, it may be better to walk 1 stop after to the main Yonabaru bus stop as there are more bus services there. This may get you back to Naha faster. For this trip, this was exactly what happened, as Toyo Bus 30 was arriving first.

Yonabaru

The main bus stop of Yonabaru in the Naha direction.

There are 2 wooden benches at the Yonabaru bus stop.

Timetables are posted on the Yonabaru bus stop stand.

Yonabaru bus stop is located after Yonabaru junction, so 2 corridors of buses merge here, increasing the availability of buses.

And here comes my Toyo Bus 30, which comes from Gushikawa via Japan National Route 331.

I would not have been able to catch this bus if I had waited at Yonabaru Town Hall Entrance (Yonabaru Cho Yakuba-iriguchi) just like how I had got to Yonabaru Railway Museum.

Boarding and alighting is done at the front door.

Toyo Bus 30 is fully covered by the Okinawa Bus Pass.

Route information is displayed and announced on board the bus.

Do note that Toyo Bus 30 takes a longer route in Naha city when heading to Naha Bus Terminal. However, if going to the popular Kokusai-dori Shopping Street on the Makishi Station end, or transferring to Yui Rail anyway, this bus route is perfect.

Approaching Makishi Station.

Makishi Station

Toyo Bus 30 drops off at the bus stop just outside Makishi Station.

To alight, I simply flashed my Okinawa Bus Pass to the driver.

The bus fare from Yonabaru to Makishi Station (Kokusai-dori Shopping Street) costs ¥380.

The junction to Kokusai-dori is just a few steps away.

Kokusai-dori is Naha’s main tourist and shopping street, stretching from Naha Bus Terminal to Makishi Station for about 2km, with restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, souvenir shops, boutiques and department stores.
