Causeway Link Cross Border Shuttle Bus (Defunct) • JB Bangunan Sultan Iskandar-Singapore Woodlands Checkpoint

Causeway Link Cross Border Shuttle Bus Service

Causeway Link operated the Causeway Link Cross Border Shuttle Bus Service between Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Johor Bahru and Woodlands Checkpoint Singapore.

The Causeway Link Cross Border Shuttle Bus Service operated purely within the closed area between immigration checkpoints at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Johor Bahru and Woodlands Checkpoint Singapore across the Johor-Singapore Causeway so that travellers have an alternative to walking at the start of the relaxed travel rules by land between Singapore and Malaysia.

The Causeway CIQ 1st Link Shuttle Bus Service previously operated for Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL), Periodic Commuting Arrangement (PCA), and Vaccinated-Recovered travellers, who were NOT travelling under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (Land) [VTL (Land)].

Perbadanan Pengangkutan Awam Johor (PAJ) previously operated the Causeway Shuttle Bus Service as a free bus service, before handing it over to Causeway Link to operate it as a paid service.

The Causeway Link Cross Border Shuttle Bus Service between Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Johor Bahru and Woodlands Checkpoint Singapore is no longer in operation with the greatly relaxed land travel rules to almost pre-COVID levels circa 2019. Passengers may use the usual cross border bus services 160, 170, 170X, 950, AC7, CW1, CW2, CW5, CW7, SJE, TS1, TS3, TS6, and TS8 to travel between Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Johor Bahru and Woodlands Checkpoint Singapore.

  1. Hi there, please could you clarify some information for me? Your blog post above states that vaccinated+recovered travellers will enter singapore through NON-VTL lane, I haven’t been able to confirm that I can do so as the ICA website states that any entry to Singapore currently requires a safe entry lane, and the self-help tool says only VTL(Air) or VTL(Land). Where might I be able to get information about the non-vtl lane you’ve written about above?

  2. Hi, I’m a Malaysian / Singapore PR and want to go back to Singapore. I’m NOT under PCA or Vaccinated-Recovered group, but I’ve already been fully vaccinated (2+1 doses). Didn’t manage to get VTL bus ticket, so may I know if I can take this non-VTL bus to Singapore if I’m okay for 7 days quarantine in Singapore. Pls advise, thanks.

    1. Yes, you are under the Category (II) Returning Singapore Citizens/Permanent Residents Lane.

        1. As we can’t pre-book non-VTL buses, how can we provide information for home quarantine in the “Home Quarantine Application” that asks for Travel Document (Flight/Ferry Ticket)?

  6. Can vaccinated-recovered travellers singaporean enter as non vtl travellers

    1. Yes, in fact, please use the Non-VTL Fully Vaccinated & Recovered Traveller lane to enter Singapore in order to free up VTL slots for vaccinated but not yet infected travellers.

  7. Can someone in this group advise what details to fill in to KKMs requirement to furnish information for Malaysia’s Home Quarantine Application in the section that requires Travel Document Details (F?light/Gerry Ticket)? Seeing as there’s no pre-booking for Non-VTL busses?

  8. I do not have a periodic travel arrangement, and I am vaccinated an boostered but I have not had Covid so cannot be classified as ‘recovered’. Can I still get on the non-VTL bus?

  9. Thanks for the details, hopefully everything goes smoothly for me via Vaccinated-Recovered lane.

  10. From 1 April 2022, is home quarantine required upon entering Malaysia via non-VTL bus? Also, can I enter Malaysia via non-VTL bus and return to Singapore via VTL bus or vice versa? I am a Malaysian with Singapore PR would like to return to Malaysia but could not get VTL bus ticket.

    1. For travel procedures, please check on travel rules. This Non-VTL Bus is just a shuttle between the 2 checkpoints and is not a travel lane by itself.

  11. Hi,since from 1st April, there is no need for quarantine and can travel freely through bus and vehicle,is this shuttle still in service?Do I still need to apply PCA pass? I am holding IPA letter.
