KTM Ekspres Selatan 45dn from Gemas to JB Sentral by Train (Connection from Bahau DMU)

KTM Ekspres Selatan 45dn Train from Gemas to JB Sentral (Connection from Bahau DMU)

My connection at Gemas was a quick one between my arrival from Shuttle Timuran 35dn from Bahau to my next Ekspres Selatan 45dn onwards to JB Sentral, allowing me a day time option to travel south my train once a day.

Gemas Railway Station

From Platform 2 from Shuttle Timuran 35dn from Bahau, it was a linkbridge transfer to Platform 5 where my connecting Ekspres Selatan 45dn was waiting.

Quite surprisingly, 26 Class Blue Tiger Locomotive 26102 Tanjung Bidara was leading my Ekspres Selatan 45dn from Gemas to JB Sentral for this trip.

My previous DMU06 on Shuttle Timuran 35dn is in the background.

Gemas Railway Station also offers a cross-platform transfer at Platforms 5 and 6 from the ETS Gold 9321dn to the connecting Ekspres Selatan 45dn.

ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia)

My Ekspres Selatan 45dn was made up of 3 ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia) coaches.

The interior of the ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia).

I booked myself at Seat 15A with unlimited legroom, but looks like I have a weird trade off.

No window view was available at my window seat. Also, someone else had already plugged in a phone at the 3-pin power socket nearest to my seat.

I decided to move to the ABC for my journey.

A toilet bowl and squat toilet are available on board the ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia).

ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach)

An ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach) was attached between coaches A and B.

Seats are formed in tables of 4.

Simple snack food is available on board the ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach), but there are no mains unlike on board the ETS Bistro.

My Ekspres Selatan 45dn departed from Gemas Railway Station on time at 3.20pm together with the ETS Gold 9322up to Butterworth.

Crossing the border from Negeri Sembilan to Johor.

Passing by Batu Anam Railway Station.

I ordered a hot dog (RM4) and hot coffee (RM3) from the ABC for tea.

The chilli and mayonnaise were already on the hot dog and microwaved together before serving.

Seems like a new ramp down from the temporary platform to the track has been installed. Not sure what this is for though.
