How To Buy SOLD OUT KTM Shuttle Tebrau Train Tickets (JB-Woodlands Train)

How to Buy KTM Shuttle Tebrau “SOLD OUT” Train Tickets

The KTM Shuttle Tebrau is a very popular shuttle train service between Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral) in Malaysia and Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) in Singapore. KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets throughout the whole year on popular days like Fridays, weekends, and public holidays, are already sold out since the time of opening. In this travel guide, I will be revealing my secrets on how I have been buying my KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets on popular days even when tickets are already sold out.

1. Don’t bother asking at the ticket counter

On popular travel days, KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets have already been sold out since end-July 2022. The KTM ticket counters at Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral) and Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) would have already seen the many 0s appearing on ticket availability weeks before, and will put up a “SOLD OUT” sign to close the queue for immediate KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket purchases and departures.

Even if the ticket counter helps you, they will only be clicking in the system for your wanted journey once, as compared to the unlimited number of tries you get if you try to do it yourself.

For this travel hack to work, you need to rely on yourself.

2. Use the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS)

KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets are best secured on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) as you have full control over the ticket booking and purchase.

Set up your KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) account with your name and passport details and ensure you have every detail correctly spelt as your passport is your ticket for scanning at the boarding gates.

Click here for KTM Shuttle Tebrau train ticket booking procedures on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS).

Once you are in, you will see the thousands of “SOLD OUT” tickets on popular days. Fret not as my methods to book these tickets are coming up right now.

3. Get ready to book online at 12.15am on the day of departure

The KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) undergoes daily maintenance at 11pm to 12.15am the next day (early morning). During this 75-minute maintenance window, KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets will slowly and magically gradually pop out out of nowhere.

I do not understand why this is so, but with magically-available KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets now, I’m not complaining at all. More KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets will magically appear on the on the day of departure itself, that is to say, if you want to travel on 1 December 2022 at any time, check the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) on 1 December 2022 at around 12.10am to standby for the mad rush of booking. You could check at 12.15am on other days before, but sometimes tickets may not appear at all.

I know I’m not the only one who have been securing KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets this way as there is always a lag (means I’m competing online with many others), KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets go down to 0 very quickly in seconds if I fail to get to the next page, and I do not always succeed in purchasing my KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket.

If you manage to get your KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket at 12.15am on the day of departure, *CONGRATULATIONS*, and have a good night’s sleep.

4. Hope for other passengers to cancel up to 2 hours before departure

If you still failed to get your KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket at 12.15am, don’t give up yet. Check the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS) throughout the day when you are awake after a good night’s sleep until 2 hours before departure. Closer to the travel time, other passengers may cancel their tickets and you can snap them up once you see any ticket available.

If you are on the other end holding on to KTM Shuttle Tebrau tickets that you will not be using, please cancel your tickets so that others can use your seat. You will receive a 75% refund if you cancel your KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket more than 72 hours before departure, and 50% refund if you cancel your KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket less than 72 hours before departure. More importantly, you allow someone else to travel in place of an otherwise empty space available on a popular service.

While the official cut-off time for refunds are 4 hours before departure, in reality, when cancelling my own tickets, I found that it is possible to do so up to 2 hours before departure.

Click here to find out how you can cancel and refund your KTM Shuttle Tebrau train ticket on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS).

All KTM Shuttle Tebrau ticket refunds are done by credit in your KTM Wallet on the KTMB Integrated Ticketing System (KITS).

5. Be on time for check-in

If you have secured your ticket after hard work on your computer or phone, CONGRATULATIONS! BUT, do not let your effort go to waste. Remember to be on time at the boarding gate to catch your KTM Shuttle Tebrau train.

From 🇲🇾 JB Sentral: KTM Shuttle Tebrau boarding gates open 30 minutes before departure time and close 10 minutes before departure time.

From 🇸🇬 Woodlands CIQ: KTM Shuttle Tebrau boarding gates open 40 minutes before departure time and close 20 minutes before departure time.

All the best!

I hope my tips to buy sold out KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets are useful for you. I had considered releasing these tips publicly for a few months now, as I know I will face more competition at 12.15am, but I guess this is for the greater good to allow for more passengers to have a chance to travel hassle free by train on the Causeway during peak periods.

Please remember that these are just travel tips to buy sold out KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets, and is not a guarantee that you will get them. I have personally failed getting my KTM Shuttle Tebrau train tickets many times with these tips, but have also been thankfully successful at other times through the kindness of other passengers who have cancelled their tickets.

  1. Hi KTMB, pls stop and banne all theae kinds of frustrating activities to take other ppl’s advantages. These few nights KTMB apps already hang and cannot function properly, causing all those ppl who need the tickets to lose hopes. If KTMB apps cannot support for the long queue and crowds, pls do not sell any tickets only after 12.15am daily, tickets must be sold frequently 24hrs a day. It is really a waste of time n energy to wait every night, eventually we all got disappointments only. PLEASE IMPROVE AND UPGRADE YOUR KTMB APPS SOONEST POSSIBLE!!

  2. Hi! Please delete my original comment on this post too, thank you very much! My intention was to highlight the unscrupulous person creating havoc on the ticket system but seems like there are people keen to give such service a try.

Your stupidity only shows that you are aware of this KTMB tricks and practicing it yourself silently. But when others expose it to the public, you said it is illegal. Seriously dont know what you have smoked. So should I report you to the authorities that you have been practicing this so called illegal activities for your whole life?
