New Woodlands Train Checkpoint Boarding Gate Closing Time effective 1 August 2022
The KTM Shuttle Tebrau boarding gates at Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) will close 20 minutes before departure from 1 August 2022. This was announced in fine print within an infographic by KTM Berhad on 30 July 2022.
This new long cut-off time seems to have come after recent KTM Shuttle Tebrau train delays due to the immigration process, both by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore and the Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia), causing a domino effect on delays on next Shuttle Tebrau trains.
As the new Shuttle Tebrau boarding cut-off time from Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ) was only implemented on 1 August 2022, when Shuttle Tebrau tickets until 4 November and the end of 2022 have been sold since 25 and 26 July 2022 respectively, some emailed Shuttle Tebrau tickets may have the old boarding cut-off time of 10 minutes printed on the emailed .pdf ticket if purchased before 1 August 2022.
Ignore the old timing on your emailed Shuttle Tebrau ticket if you had purchased it before 1 August 2022, and follow the new Shuttle Tebrau boarding cut-off time from Woodlands Train Checkpoint (Woodlands CIQ), which is 20 minutes before departure.
There are no changes to the Shuttle Tebrau boarding cut-off time from Johor Bahru Sentral Railway Station (JB Sentral), which is 10 minutes before departure.
