KTM Promising Perak Special Excursion Train | KL Sentral-Taiping
Promising Perak is part of a series of Railway To See Malaysia (RTSM) Excursion Trains, which will operate between Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) and Taiping, with stops at Batu Gajah, Ipoh, and Kuala Kangsar. Promising Perak will launch on 7 September 2024 and will have 4 return runs on selected weekends in September, October, and November 2024.
The RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train journey is designed to offer a slow and scenic travel option, reducing the number of stops compared to regular ETS trains, though the travel time is lengthened as the train uses locomotive-hauled coaches. The journey begins at KL Sentral and includes intermediate stops at Batu Gajah, Ipoh, and Kuala Kangsar only, along the way to Taiping.
2 travel classes are available on board the RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train, including ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) seats and AFC (Air-conditioned First Class) seats. Onboard amenities include an ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach) or café serving food and beverages, and a Chillax Coach with an open space for passengers to lounge in.

AFC (Air-conditioned First Class)
There is 1 AFC (Air-conditioned First Class) coach on the RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train. Seats on the AFC (Air-Conditioned First Class) are laid out in a 2+1 configuration which can be rotated towards the direction of travel.
ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class)
There are 4 ASC (Air-conditioned Second Class) coaches on the RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train. The interior of the ASC (Hyundai-Padu Sedia) has 60 seats in a 2+2 configuration in a fixed forward or reverse direction.
ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach)
An ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach), also known by most passengers as canteen, is also attached on the RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train.
Chillax Coach
The Chillax Coach is available for passengers to lounge in the RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train. Seats have been removed from the Chillax Coach with artificial grass carpets for passengers to lounge in. Beanbags are provided for a more comfortable seating position near the floor. The Chillax Coach also doubles up as a Surau if needed.

The RTSM Promising Perak Excursion Train operates on a seasonal basis.
The ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach) and Chillax Coach are free spaces for passengers to enjoy and lounge in. There is no standalone ticket sold for the ABC (Air-conditioned Buffet Coach) or Chillax Coach.
