KTM ETS Train Services Resume on Single Track Following Sungkai-Kalumpang Fallen Tree Incident (23 December 2025)
KTM Berhad has confirmed that Electric Train Service (ETS) operations have resumed on 23 December 2025 following yesterday’s disruption caused by a fallen tree, with trains now operating on a single track between Sungkai and Slim River. The partial service restoration was successfully implemented at 6.32am today, allowing ETS trains to resume normal movement through the affected section. However, KTMB advises passengers that delays are still expected as services continue to operate on one track only.

Ongoing Electrification Repair Works
KTMB’s technical teams are currently carrying out intensive repair works on the electrification system at the incident site to ensure train operations can be fully restored in a safe and timely manner.
Passenger Refunds and Insurance Claims
Passengers travelling on ETS services who choose not to continue their journey due to delays exceeding two hours are eligible for a full fare refund. Refunds can be claimed at ticket counters within seven (7) days from the date of travel, subject to existing terms and conditions.
In addition, passengers who experience train delays of four hours or more and have purchased the Premium Takaful Plan may submit an insurance claim by contacting Etiqa Claim Assist at 010-368 7829 or via email at support@goinsure.com.my.
Passengers who choose to continue travelling on ETS services are not eligible for a refund.
Passenger Support Measures Implemented
Earlier, KTMB deployed 12 shuttle buses to facilitate passenger transfers to Slim River Station for northbound journeys and Sungkai Station for southbound journeys, allowing passengers to continue their trips by train.
Light refreshments and mineral water were also provided to passengers on all 12 affected trains upon arrival at Slim River and Sungkai stations.
