KTM ETS Sungkai-Slim River Electrification Repairs Completed, Train Services Resume Following Fallen Tree Incident (25 December 2025)

KTM Berhad has confirmed that repair works to the electrification system following a fallen tree incident at KM268.795 on the Sungkai–Slim River route were fully completed at 10.05am on 25 December 2025. With the completion of the repairs, Electric Train Service (ETS) operations have resumed as normal, and rail traffic between Sungkai and Slim River has been fully restored.

KTMB, however, expects temporary delays to affect some ETS services as schedules and train movements are adjusted following the disruption. The operator said it is implementing operational recovery measures to ensure services return to a stable, smooth and timely operation.

Passenger Refunds and Insurance Claims

Passengers travelling on affected ETS services who chose not to continue their journey due to delays exceeding two hours are eligible for a full fare refund. Refunds can be claimed at ticket counters within seven (7) days from the date of travel, subject to existing terms and conditions.

In addition, passengers who experience train delays of four hours or more and have purchased the Premium Takaful Plan may submit an insurance claim by contacting Etiqa Claim Assist at 010-368 7829 or via email at support@goinsure.com.my.

Passengers who choose to continue travelling on ETS services are not eligible for a refund.
