ScotRail Ayrshire Coast Line 2K96 from Ayr to Glasgow Central by Train

ScotRail Ayrshire Coast Line Train from Ayr to Glasgow Central

Following the ferry and bus on my Rail & Sail journey to Edinburgh, it’s finally time for trains again. While my ScotRail Stena Line Rail Link Coach had arrived a few minutes late into Ayr, I had just missed my original scheduled train according to the ScotRail journey planner at 3.48pm. However, my Rail & Sail ticket allows me to take any following train to Glasgow Central, so there were no ticket issues to simply catch the next train departing shortly.

National Rail offers a Rail & Sail ticket which is an all in one ticket for rail from any Scottish station, coach link between Ayr and Cairnryan, and ferry travel to Belfast (via Cairnryan) with Stena Line. Regular 26-30 Railcard concessions apply on this ticket, offering a 34% discount off adult fare, which is perfect for me to head to Belfast from Edinburgh and back by train, bus, and ferry, all in a single train ticket.
