KiHa 183 Series DMU

KiHa 183 Series DMU (キハ183系) is a future rolling stock for the Royal Railway, operating on passenger routes throughout the Kingdom. 11 train cars will be transferred to Cambodia from Hokkaido, departing from Hakodate Port on 15 April 2024, and arrived at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port at 10am on 27 April 2024.

These 11 train cars were the second batch of KiHa 183s originally destined for Sierra Leone*, however, the plan to do so has failed, with the deal subsequently terminated by ARISE IIP, and are now sold to Cambodia instead.

KiHa 183 Series DMU (キハ183系) ceased operations for JR Hokkaido since 18 March 2023. The last day of KiHa 183 Series operations for JR Hokkaido was 17 March 2023.

Royal Railway Cambodia’s KiHa 183 Series DMUs were loaded onto the SEDONA (IMO 9887114, MMSI 548539000) on 15 April 2024, bound for Cambodia.
