Yow Hoe Bus from Ayer Hitam to Segamat

Yow Hoe is a rural bus operator serving main roads out of Segamat, with a rather long trunk route between Ayer Hitam and Segamat at about 94km long. Continuing on my journey to Segamat after lunch, I waited for more than 1 hour at Ayer Hitam Bus Terminal as no bus route and timetable information is available.

Ayer Hitam Bus Terminal

I arrived back at Ayer Hitam Bus Terminal at 1.30pm after lunch, with no Yow Hoe bus in sight. I just waited around the terminal in the hopes that one would show up soon.

At 1.38pm, a Yow Hoe bus arrived carrying passengers from Segamat. Some passengers asked the driver what time is he departing and he said 2.30pm. That would be an hour’s wait for me here at Ayer Hitam Bus Terminal then.

The driver flipped the destination sign over to show Segamat, and then went for his break. No bus service number is observed for the Yow Hoe Ayer Hitam-Segamat bus.

At 2.00pm, the Green Transit Liner bus, which I had arrived from, departed for Kulai again.

At 2.30pm, the driver opened the doors for boarding, but asked everyone to take a seat first.

Tickets are sold from a mobile device where the driver collects cash and then keys in your ticket information. The receipt-like printout is your ticket.

I tried finding a cooler seat to no avail. The air-conditioner on board was working, but was very weak with a reasonably-cool air only ranging around 15cm from the linear vents, and it was very warm everywhere out of the 15cm range throughout the bus.

Seats are also in a bad condition with vandalism and tattered covers.

After the driver returned to the bus, everyone went forward to pay for tickets. My ticket for the Yow Hoe bus journey from Ayer Hitam to Segamat costs RM9.90.

My Yow Hoe bus departed from Ayer Hitam Bus Terminal at 2.40pm.
