Genting Dream Cruise Helipad Experience
Resorts World Cruises’ Genting Dream has a helipad on her bow in case a heli-evac is needed in an emergency, or as shown possible in Crazy Rich Asians, for the super rich to arrive on board by helicopter. Passengers can visit the helipad as part of the Helipad Experience at a nominal price for S$15 + 18% service charge subject to availability, or together with the Captain’s Bridge Tour for S$30 + 18% service charge. Here’s a look at the helipad on board Genting Dream.
Access to the helipad was through a hatch on Deck 8, instead on where the helipad was on Deck 9.
The hatch led to the crew bar which was not in service at that time.
Climbing up the steps to Deck 9 where the helipad is.
The helipad on board Genting Dream marked with her call sign of C6BO5.
There is another hatch leading directly to Deck 9 and the Helipad Embarkation Lounge, but alas, I’m not embarking on board Genting Dream with my helicopter.
Navigational equipment are also placed here, so don’t go near them. The railings around the bow will be flattened during helicopter operations.
Most staterooms overlooking the helipad are Oceanview Staterooms on Decks 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13.
Looking up to the bridge where the next batch of Captain’s Bridge Tour participants are.
Conclusion
The Captain’s Bridge Tour and Helipad Experience offers an insightful look into the operations on Genting Dream and provides a great view out to sea from the front of the ship. You may wish to consider booking the Captain’s Bridge Tour and Helipad Experience for better value, instead of just booking the Helipad Experience on its own.
