World Dream Super Seacation Cruise To Nowhere

All good things must come to an end, and the World Dream arrives back at Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore at 9am after 2 nights at sea. With the short last day, here’s how you’ll be disembarking from the World Dream just after breakfast. Surprisingly, disembarkation is a very efficient and seamless process with no queues throughout.

[UPDATE: 20 Feb 2021] With effect from 20 February 2021, there is no more disembarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART) at Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore. Passengers clear immigration, collect checked baggage, and clear customs, thereafter exit the terminal as per normal.

World Dream Disembarkation Times

World Dream disembarkation details are given the night before in my Balcony Deluxe Stateroom. I’m on Deck 12, and I have the second disembarkation time of 9.45am.

The Palace: As soon as allowed till 11.15am (Priority & at leisure)
Deck 15: 9.30am
Deck 13: 9.30am
Deck 12: 9.45am
Deck 11: 10.00am
Deck 10: 10.45am
Deck 9: 11.00am
Deck 8: 11.15am

Your actual World Dream disembarkation time will be when the actual disembarkation announcements are made deck by deck, and a staff comes by individually to knock on your door, so it may be earlier or later than the estimated stated disembarkation timing. This process prevents inter-mingling between guests during disembarkation, and minimizes chances of a long queue forming.

Just as I woke up at around 8am, the World Dream was approaching Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore already.

Breakfast at The Lido

Being the last meal I’ll have on board and the tight closing time at 9am, I opted to head to The Lido for a quick buffet breakfast. I guess almost everyone on board thought of the same thing, so there was a bit of queue to get in to The Lido.

The World Dream expected this situation too, and the full The Lido buffet line and seating area was opened for service instead of just half a line for the past 2 days.

For disembarkation, everyone must stay in their cabins until their assigned deck is called.

World Dream Disembarkation Process

The World Dream disembarkation process is very orderly. Announcements will be made when disembarkation is ready, and the crew will personally knock on your cabin door when it’s time to disembark.

Passengers are ushered into the lifts in small groups of not more than 8 persons. With the deck-by-deck disembarkation from the World Dream, the lifts served the disembarkation process very quickly since all of them would be shuttling between Decks 12 and 7 only.

Returning of TRACEY at Dream Dining Room Lower

Instead of heading right out of the World Dream, passengers stop at Deck 7 first to proceed to Dream Dining Room Lower to return the TRACEYs.

NOTE: TRACEY return may be at Dream Dining Room Upper, Dream Dining Room Lower, or Zodiac Theatre, depending on the time of disembarkation. Just follow where the staff usher you to – you won’t get lost since it’s all a one-way path.

Heading out to the boardwalk and back into the air-conditioned area again. The process is one-way so passengers don’t mix as far as possible.

Heading down the stairs to Deck 6 where the gangway is. Crew members are on hand to help with bulky luggage here.

Singapore Immigration

As this is Singapore, check in to Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore with SafeEntry. Temperature is also taken before heading into arrival immigration.

Disembarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART)

~~Once immigration is done, proceed down to the Arrival Hall. Here, you will go for your disembarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART).~~

Interestingly, the staff at the first counter asked me if I was going back on to the ship. Puzzled, I said “No?”, but apparently I was the odd one out as there were many indeed u-turning back on. Hmm…

~~The 3 stickers issued during the embarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test is given back to the staff here. Again, it was a quick and painless process which was done in less than a minute.~~

As compared to the embarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test, there is no need to wait for your test results here, and are free to go immediately after testing. You will be advised that if you do not receive a call-up within 1 hour after the test, you can safely assume that you have been tested negative.

Baggage reclaim and customs follow ~~after the disembarkation COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test~~. As I needed my one bag that I brought to store my used clothes in the morning, I didn’t send it as checked baggage for disembarkation, so I didn’t need to reclaim it here either.

Back in Singapore

The public area of the Arrival Hall after going through customs. Small, but sufficient, since everyone would be heading out immediately. Before COVID-19, those with tours would be with a guide already from the ship, and not be waiting for a guide here save for the select few who didn’t book their shore excursion through the ship.

The whole World Dream disembarkation process was extremely fast since it’s an orderly disembarkation with no crowds forming. From my Balcony Deluxe Stateroom till here past customs, it took a very speedy 20 minutes including the COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test process.

The wayfinding system here is just like at Changi Airport. Just beware of the convenient-looking “Train to City” signs though, it’s an 8-minute walk over to Marina South Pier MRT Station.

Well, this certainly reminds me of arriving at HZMB Hong Kong Port in 2019.

Here, I continued my journey on SBS Transit Bus Service 400 since I didn’t want to drag my luggage all the way to Marina South Pier MRT Station.
